## Verdict

The HP 14" Ultra Light Laptop is a great choice if you want an affordable, super lightweight device with long battery life that covers all the basics — especially for students or anyone primarily doing homework, web browsing, and office work. Just be mindful of Windows 11 S Mode restrictions unless you’re comfortable switching it off and potentially lowering security. If you want a sturdier build or plan to do more demanding tasks, consider investing in a higher-end model or exploring other laptops with more robust hardware. Overall, this is a solid entry-level laptop for light, everyday use that balances portability and functionality quite well.

**Top pro:** Lightweight and ultra-portable, making it easy to carry around for students and home use
**Top con:** Runs Windows 11 Home in S Mode by default, which restricts installing some applications and file transfers; disabling S Mode compromises security and may not be reversible
